Spinrite is the largest craft yarn company in North America. As an industry leader focused on driving growth and execution excellence, Spinrite is looking for a Director of Human Resources to support an upcoming parental leave, that will lead a progressive Human Resources team to meet our business goals.

Reporting to the CEO, the Human Resources Director is responsible for ensuring that our human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned with our overall business objectives. Overseeing the Human Resources team, the HR Director will improve HR processes, implement strategies that support business growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and managers, support employee engagement, attract the best recruits, and promote the organization’s values.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing HR and payroll systems in Canada and the US
  • Overseeing Canadian and US benefit programs
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and US legislation and regulations
  • Manage the HR strategic plan and budget
  • Assess staffing needs in collaboration with department managers
  • Oversee the recruitment and retention of team members in line with our organizational values and strategic vision
  • Designing professional development and performance management systems
  • Support difficult and escalated performance management and termination situations
  • Overseeing total compensation program
  • Overseeing the assessment and execution of organizational culture initiatives
  • Maintain and evolve Human Resources dashboards and provide insights and recommendations to management
  • Oversee HR policies and procedures in Canada and the US


  • Strong leadership and excellent communication, specifically interpersonal skills
  • University degree in Business Administration preferred
  • Experience in a Senior Human Resources role
  • Certification in Human Resources (Certified Human Resources Leader – CAN or US equivalent)
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems, ideally in Ceridian’s Dayforce HRIS
  • Independent, entrepreneurial thinker, and adaptable to change
  • Strong internal customer service focus
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Power Point and Excel
