Spinrite is the largest craft yarn and sewing thread company in North America. As an industry leader focused on driving growth and execution excellence, we are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our Yarn Finishing team in Listowel, Ontario.


Reporting to the Production Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day direction to supervisors, lead hands and hourly production associates within the department. This position will work in close collaboration with the other department leaders to maintain health and safety, a positive workplace culture, and meet production targets.

  • Manage Supervisors, lead hands and production associates
  • Communicate with other management concerning departmental and production information
  • Resolve conflict, work-related problems, and issues that develop in the department
  • Schedule and prioritize production, including coordinating scheduling of production overtime
  • Determine department scheduling, staffing, and capital requirements
  • Implement new daily performance tracker thru our new ERP system (D365), replacing Daily System Controls twice daily
  • Ensure work produced is accurate, timely and efficient; ensure standard operating procedures are in place and adhered to
  • Perform administrative duties for assigned shifts, including monitoring attendance, timesheets and disciplinary action
  • Ensure smooth operation of systems and equipment by implementing and tracking preventative maintenance for department
  • Monitor start up, breaks and end of shifts
  • Monitor the quality standards for all operations
  • Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Evaluate the supervisors’ performance
  • Attend and participate in daily production meetings, as well as regular safety and employee meetings
  • Communicate and provide detailed reports to the Production Manager
  • Create a team atmosphere
  • Maintain a fair and equal standard of company rules and policies
  • Administer and maintain compliance with company safety policies and good housekeeping practices
  • Perform daily functions required to manage the department as required



  • 5+ years of leadership experience in production environment or post-secondary education in business or related field
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Prior experience with ERP (Preferably D365) systems would be an asset
