About the Role
Reporting directly to the Site Leader for day-to-day direction, with EHS requirements and policies from the EHS Manager. The EHS Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the environmental health & safety of our associates and the Sites. This team member will provide day to day assistance by coordinating training, programs, conducting audits and maintaining documentation. They are responsible for continuously eliminating or minimizing risks to our employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
Directly responsible for ensuring the health and safety of others beyond one’s own team or functional area (may include responsibility for health and safety of outside visitors or contractors).
Responds to crisis situations where the health and safety of others may be at risk.
Responsible for Safety Observation program and tracking
Coordinate, plan and conduct orientations and Safety training as required.
Provides leadership and support for Joint Health and Safety Committees
Coordinates Emergency Response team schedules and training with the Site Leader.
Ensures we follow all Federal, Provincial, State, and Local regulations.
Conducts workplace inspections, maintains CAPA’s, and supports the Site Leader and EHS Manager
Maintains Site EHS documentations, creates and submits EHS reports.
Assists with Incident investigations, Return to Work plans, workers compensation and claims management
Works with site personnel, and peers in other locations to drive Safety improvements.
Perform other duties as required
Work in EHS or a related field
Prior work in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Maintenance experience is preferred
Courses or certifications in EH&S curriculum or equivalent experience
Strong computer skills such as MS Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills – speaks to groups regularly
Ability to learn – must keep up with regulations, policies, safety practices and trends.
Must have problem solving skills and ability to identify root causes.
Excellent interpersonal skills and can-do attitude
