About the Role

Spinrite is the largest craft yarn and sewing thread company in North America. As an industry leader focused on driving growth and execution excellence. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our Afternoon shift (3PM – 11PM) to join our growing Maintenance team.


Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining operation efficiency of production equipment and general plant operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Resolve machine problems as they occur

  • Perform mechanical maintenance related to repairing heavy industrial equipment including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Perform Maintenance in accordance with company policy

  • Communicate with supervisors daily on issues concerning the department

  • Create a team atmosphere

  • Conduct safety inspections, maintenance audits and training.

  • Assist in installation of new equipment

  • Responsible for entering work and part requests into computerized maintenance management system

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Blueprint reading knowledge will be considered an asset.

  • Electrical diagram knowledge will be considered an asset.

  • General mechanical knowledge including hydraulic, pneumatic systems.

  • Basic VFD motor control installation and maintenance will be considered an asset.

  • Ability to perform either MIG, TIG or stick welding.

  • 1 year experience maintaining industrial machinery and controls

  • 1 year experience maybe from equivalent technical educational training in a relevant field

  • High school diploma preferred

  • Technical education training or practical experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, welding, machine tool and/or HVAC systems.
