About the Role
Reporting to the New Product Lead (NPL), the Product Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the creative development of new samples and maintaining internal department resources. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a fast paced Product Development team bringing the most innovative maker techniques to the mass market for North America.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain shade library of legacy products, both digital colour (Pantones) and physical yarn
Update Visual Line List with quarterly product updates.
Manage incoming and outgoing product samples to/from the relevant offices.
Ensure accuracy of product information in presentation decks.
Attend weekly Product Development meetings and take minutes, following up on actionable items with key stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for process improvement: streamline workflows, documents, and templates where possible.
Work cross-functionally with Brand, Creative, QA, Design, and Digital to support requests regarding products, product features and consumer benefits.
Participate on the Trend Team by researching social media, in-market trends, monitoring trends and communicating relevant learnings with team, adding concepts to the ongoing development pipeline.
Participate in brainstorming sessions across various departments.
Contribute to development of approved concepts during sample ideation, spec qualification, and color development.
Contribute to product solutions through testing, prototyping, and supplier communication.
Support existing collaborative relationships with our supplier via prompt and accurate communication.
Review supplier samples for existing strengths and areas of development.
Strong computer skills in applications including:
Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
College or university education, Business or Marketing.
Keen interest of fashion & home dec trends.
Independent, entrepreneurial thinker, and adaptable to change.
Solid communication skills, able to work with all levels within the organization.
Strong consumer focus.
Analytical and mathematical skills
Creative problem-solving skills, highly organized work methods and excellent multi-tasking skills are essential
