About the Role
Reporting to the VP of IT, the Senior Network Engineering & Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for the Global Network infrastructure and Cyber Security. This will include all WAN, LAN, Wireless, Switching, Routing, Firewalls, Network and Cyber Security, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Scanning, MDR/EDR, SOC, SIEM, Telco, and end point connections. In our small IT Team, the ideal candidate will be comfortable wearing multiple hats and delivering on multiple responsibilities. This role will collaborate closely with the entire IT team on all network and security-related infrastructure while also providing level 2 and 3 support to our users. ( One Position- Role posted in Canada as well).
Duties & Responsibilities
Daily Network and Cyber Security monitoring and response.
Review and update the existing network and infrastructure as required for reliability, performance, compliance, security, and best practices.
Analyze business requirements to develop technical network and cyber security solutions and their framework.
Follow and contribute to the companies Cyber Security policies and governance.
Write functional requirements/specifications documents.
Participate and contribute to the IT budgeting process for all network and cyber security related equipment, services, and projects.
Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
Manage technology vendors and assess vendor development/test strategies.
Stay abreast of how technology infrastructures are currently impacting and driving competitors.
Proactively develop, maintain, and convert technical knowledge related to Network architecture and technologies like security, performance, and best practices.
No specific responsibility for the health and safety of others, beyond following standard defined health and safety procedures and reporting any observed workplace hazards.
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
5+ years of Networking, Cyber Security, and related technologies experience, ideally in a multi-location international company with manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, and eCommerce.
Working on a small IT team where everyone has multiple responsibilities.
Experience with DR, BCP, ID development, documentation, and implementation.
3+ years of managing a hybrid cloud environment.
Project Management Experience- with the ability to coordinate, supervise and manage teams
Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Must have experience with Cisco, Azure, Cyber Security, SOC, SIEM, MDR/EDR and any certifications will be a plus.
Prior experience with international organizations and related compliance and regulatory requirements.
Experience with merger and acquisition activities resulting in assessing, consolidating and sunsetting various technologies and systems.
Demonstrated ability to work remote from the end points and still be highly effective in deploying, managing, and supporting the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, technology, engineering, business or related field, or comparable work experience
